There is no doubt that the GM LS engine swap is the most affordable, least dramatic way to make great reliable power in whatever you put it in. We have been tuning LS based engines since the very beginning. Whether running factory fuel management, Holley Terminator, or other fuel management, we are experts in LS tuning. This week we had a wide variety of projects in the shop. We had a 50’s Chevy Pickup on a 70′ Blazer Chassis that the owner had LS Swapped, and wanted us to get dialed in. We also had much more wild Whipple Supercharged LS3 that was a fresh build with only break in miles on the engine that the owner wanted to turn up the wick on now that break in was done. He wanted to make 700 horsepower to the wheels. After getting a good baseline, ore head tuner Travis did the math and decided a 3.5′ pulley should give the correct amount of boost to hit the customers desired power levels. We increased it from 7psi to 12.2psi and made 717whp. LS tuning isn’t all we do though, we also had a longtime customer bring in his 502 crate motor Chevelle for some ignition issues which we were able to identify and fix. We fixed some brake issues on a Squarebody Chevy and tied up some other loose ends for the customer. Did some forward lighting upgrades on a Wrangler and tied them into the factory fog light switch so that we didn’t add any clutter to the dash. We are also fabricating some shock towers for a really cool CJ7 build. We wrapped up a really neat project on a 440 Cuda that we had previously tuned, and the customer brought back to have us design and install an electric power steering system. At the heart of that system is a GPS controller that monitors the vehicles speed and modifies the power steering pressure accordingly. In a parking lot, full power assist, at highway speeds, pressure dialed back for comfortable and confident steering input. What a fun week it has been with a little bit of everything.
